All about Ballechin

We will forever have to wonder what a real Ballechin would taste like.

All about Ballechin distillery

Ballechin Distillery sat on the intersection of the Rivers Tay and Tummel, near the town of Ballinluig, Perth and Kinross in the misty mountains of the central Highlands. The rivers flow south from there, this region is one of the most beautiful in Scotland.

When it comes to its history, there is a lot of confusion in the market right now. Ballechin Distillery was its own shop from 1880 through 1927, producing single malt Whisky in the style of the central Highlands.

It was one of the original seven farm distilleries in Perthshire, which was a point of regional pride. This is where the confusion comes in; even though Ballechin is long since gone, their neighbor distillery Edradour began issuing a Whisky named "Ballechin" in their honor.

If you find a bottle of Ballechin less than 200 years old, there is a rebranded Edradour inside. If you find a real 200 Year Old bottle of Ballechin, you will not have to invite us twice for a sample.
