Mackmyra, la première distillerie suédoise, a été imaginée par un groupe de 8 amis lors d'un voyage de ski qui voulaient créer le premier whisky suédois.

Un an plus tard, les 8 amis fondèrent une distillerie et en 6 mois, ils distillèrent les premières gouttes de whisky brut. 3 ans et 170 recettes plus tard, ils eurent leur premier whisky, le Mackmyra Elegant.

Mackmyra produit des whiskies single malt aux caractères et profils variés. Aucun whisky n'a de caractère commun. Ils se distinguent tous par leurs arômes et leur palais. Cependant, la tourbe se retrouve dans la plupart de leurs versions. La tourbe suédoise est très particulière.

En 2017, Mackmyra a commencé à distiller son propre Gin.
