Perfect for Spring, AnCnoc Blas brings a rich, fresh, citrus flavor to their single malt.
John Morrison found a patch of land rich with barley, Highland spring water, and shallow bogs of dry peat. He smartly grasped the opportunity and bought the Knock Estate from the Duke of Fife, giving birth to the Knockdhu distillery 1894. With time the methods of production have changed, but their dedication to quality has not. Today they produce a wide range of single malts of various styles, ages, and special editions.
The AnCnoc Distillery is famous for the very cool practice of partnering with artists and designers on their Whisky special editions. For AnCnoc Blas, they partnered with Scottish fashion designer Patrick Grant who did the illustrations for the label.
In Scottish Gaelic, Blas means taste, which makes you wonder why no one else snapped up that name before, right? And taste it has, too. First, it is bottled at a full 54% ABV — nearly cask strength — without any unnecessary filtering or coloring. So you get pure, powerful flavour in every delicious drop. And they age it in a combination of American and Spanish oak, bringing a unique citrus character.
