Broken Bones' take on Sloe Gin is intense with less sugar and higher ABV.

Why would you name your company "Broken Bones"? The distillery was founded in Slovenia by Boštjan Marušič, Borut Osojnik, and Polona Preskar. They hadn’t named their fledgling business yet and were filling barrels of Whisky for aging. Boštjan and Borut had both just come from the hospital because one had broken a leg and the other his nose. As they tell it, the bones healed but the name stuck. They produce a tidy range of five Gins and a couple of Whiskies using custom-made stills in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.

The award-winning Broken Bones London Dry Gin is utterly delicious and a great base for many of their other Gins, including the Sloe Gin. Sloe berries are infused in the Gin for 6 months before sugar is added, bringing out the sweet aromas of ripe plums and nutty marzipan notes. With less sugar and higher alcohol content that clocks in at 66 proof, it's an intense and different take on the style ― but a welcome one.
