Brora 1981: A Ghostly Highland Treasure
The Brora 1981 Douglas Laing 21 Year Old is a collector's dream, distilled in June 1981 and bottled in October 2002. Part of Douglas Laing's 'The Old Malt Cask' series, this single malt Scotch whisky was matured in a single sherry cask, yielding just 360 bottles. With an ABV that packs a punch, it showcases Brora's signature waxy character, enhanced by sherry cask richness. Expect a complex nose, a punchy palate with spices and honey, and a long, warm finish with sweet peat smoke.
Deep amber
Highly complex with farmyard notes, candlewax, damp hay, old leather gloves, fresh orchard fruits, and a subtle whiff of peat smoke.
Punchy and oily with spices, cracked black pepper, tobacco, honeyed sweetness, coastal salinity, and a mild gunpowder note.
Long, warm, and drying with ginger, citrus rind, and lingering sweet peat smoke.
