A delicate and crisp Gin made from Rosé grape must in Provence, France.
The Provence region of France is best know for its verdant fields of flowers and herbs. But it is also a recognized Wine region as well. It is truly a blessed land. The Domain de Cantarelle Winery was founded here in 1974 and developed into the largest Winery in the Coteaux Varois de Provence. Pascal Debon fell in love with the land and purchased the Domain in 2017 where they continue to produce their unique range of Rosé Wines and a fragrant Gin distilled from them.
Cantarelle Gin De Provence is a Gin that truly reflects the local terroir of the Provence. In Italy, the grape must is used to make Grappa. At Domain de Cantarelle that Spirit is transformed into Gin onsite in their own still and infused with a delicate amount of juniper, lime blossom, grapefruit, coriander, and the zest of bitter orange.
Smartass Corner:
During the Age of the Empire, the Provence region was known as "Provincia Romana" which is where it gets its name. The romans introduced viticulture here when they conquered the region in 121 BC.
