Ancient Brazilian Spirit, made better.
It was somewhere in the middle of the 19th century when a Danish dude called Christiano Matthiessen emigrated to Brazil to build roads and highways. He immediately fell in love with the country, its colors and people - and especially Sofia. They bought an estate and after a short stint in carpentry and producing coffee, they founded a distillery (in 1886) and in 1900, they began making Cachaça. Today, the fourth generation of distillers creates one of the best Cachaças in the world, making sure it has an unmistakable character and identity. Fun fact: Capucana translates to "sugar cane house"!
Their handcrafted Cachaça is a citrusy style, presented in a sexy bottle. But what's within is even more alluring: apricot-forward nose with classy hints of wood and leather introduce you to a lush and very Rum-like palate. The Spirit is a sumptuous blend of different batches and aged for three years. The result is a wonderful balance between complexity and freshness. Capucana Cachaça is a superb base for any refreshing cocktail: Pithaya, Rambutan Martini or Mani - and of course, Caipirinha.
