The taste of the Atlantic Ocean from Ireland.

The Scully family has been farming on the southwest coast of Ireland for 9 generations. Their family farm might have been small but the family’s dream was big – yet not too big, evidently. The family founded the Clonakilty Distillery in the heart of Clonakilty town at the waterfront of the Atlantic Ocean where they take the best local natural resources – prime land, pristine water, and salty sea air – and transform them into fine Irish Whiskey, aged by the sea. Their range is truly an expression of the terroir as even the barley comes exclusively from their own barley farm.

Clonakilty Galley Head Single Malt Irish Whiskey was inspired by the Galley Head Lighthouse that watches over their fields at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. A premium Single Malt, it’s aged and finished in their Atlantic Ocean warehouse in a combination of oak casks, re-toasted Wine barrel, and Bordeaux Red Wine barrels. The result is a complex maritime Whiskey with notes of oak spice, red berries, dark chocolate, and an insanely long, smooth finish.

Very light and smooth. I bought it as a diversion from my normal peated Islay Whiskys, but it was too light for me.

Aggregating my wife and me, she'd go 10, I'd go 7 but will round up. Smooth, subtle, lightweight in taste, very Irish

Subtle and delicate. Quintessentially Irish. Notes of hay after a very long summer.
