A delicious, double-aged, solera-finished Rum with roots in Spain and the Caribbean.
Bodegas Williams and Humbert stretches back to 1877 when Sir Alexander Williams and Arthur Humbert founded a winery in Jerez, Spain, just south of Seville. in the 1960s, four brothers of the Medina Family founded a new winery and then — over the next several decades of company mergers and acquisitions — the companies became one. Today the company offers a huge selection of beverages, Wines, and spirits.
Like all Dos Maderas Rums, Selección is a blend of Rums from Barbados and Guyana. They’re first aged for five years in their home states in the Caribbean. Then they are transported to Spain where they are entered into the famous solera aging system of Bodegas Williams and Humbert for an additional five years in Wine and Sherry casks. The process yields a delicate, semi-dry flavor profile on the front palate with strong, lightly sweet, Sherry notes on the back.
Smartass corner:
In Spanish, “madera” means wood. So “Dos Maderas” translates literally as “two woods,” and implies finishing in secondary barrels across the entire line.
