The story of El Rayo Tequila starts with two lads from South London: Jack Vereker and Tom Bishop, childhood friends from Peckham. Bewitched by the flavors, they quit their jobs and flew to Guadalajara in what we imagined looked like one of those fast-paced Guy Ritchie montages. El Rayo Reposado ('The Golden One') is a soft and warm delicacy. The Tequileros take El Rayo Plata and put it in imported barrels that once held Bourbon for seven months.
