In 1783, Evan Williams was the guy who opened Kentucky’s first distillery on the banks of the Ohio River. Like its namesake, Evan Williams Kentucky Straight Bourbon is full of character. It’s been aged way longer than it’s required by law and the result is a smooth, rich, and approachable Bourbon with flavors of oak, caramel, and brown sugar. Clocking in at a pleasant 86 proof, this lovely amber liquid might just be your next everyday sipper.

Some might think this rating is too high but when you take into consideration the cost and quality of this bourbon it just can’t be beat. Everything you would expect from a bourbon. Oak, caramel, vanilla plus the nutty flavor on the nose and palate. I prefer the BIB white label expression more as well as a lot of other bourbon’s but definitely a go to for an affordable dram.
