Glenmorangie has been standing firm on the east coast of the northern Highlands since 1843 when William Matheson and his wife Anne founded the distillery near Tain. Now, there’s a couple of things you should know to understand why their Whisky is THE best-selling Single Malt Whisky in Scotland. First of all, they have the tallest stills in Scotland, and you know what they say, the taller the stills, the tastier the Whisky. It also helps they own and protect the Tarlogie forest surrounding their mineral-rich water source – Tarlogie Spring – allowing them to produce a deliciously fruity style of Whisky. Glenmorangie Tarlogan Single Malt Whisky is the third release in the Legends series, a Travel Retail exclusive collection, where each expression tells a legendary tale of the distillery’s history. The Tarlogan is inspired by the legend of the chieftain of the Pictish people who is said to have given the name to the distillery’s precious, you guessed it, Tarlogie forest. The choice of the deep green label is no coincidence, either. For this creamy Whisky, Dr Bill Lumsden selected a parcel aged in ex-Bourbon and married it with a Single Malt, aged in virgin oak casks.
