A Golden Elixir Made for Explorers.
For 160 years, Australia couldn’t make Whisky by law. Then, in 1992, the powers that be decided their country should be fun again, and since then, twenty distilleries popped up — half of them in Tasmania, the Land Under the Land Down Under. On the north, there’s the Hellyers Road Distillery, named after Henry Hellyer, who surveyed Tasmania and looking at his last name, no wonder there are devils on the island. It was established in 1997 by a dairy company and since then, the Distillery became one of the largest in Australia, making a range of fine Spirits. While they produce Whiskies that are a loving combination of port and peat, this bottle holds a decade old Single Malt. It was aged in Bourbon casks, made with premium Tasmanian grain, brought to life by the cleanest water and the purest air.
This pale gold potion has an aroma of vanilla and a medium-sweet palate of crowd-pleasing notes of creamy maple spice and a hint of the Bourbon character. While it’s not a mistake mixing it in cocktails, this one is best consumed neat and if possible, poured a few hours before. We can’t promise you’ll see a Tasmanian Devil, but we’ll bet you’ll love it.
