A smooth and lightly-dry Gin in the London style but steeped in the flavor of India.

Jindea was launched in 2017 by three friend who have been in the beverage and hospitality business for most of their lives — Matthew Dakers, Adrian Gomes, and Jack Rackham. Matthew and Adrian also have strong ties to India. And Jack works at the family business — Emporia Brands — a Spirits importer and innovator. It seems natural that they would eventually create something together that represented their passions and experience.

The idea for Jindea Single Estate Tea Gin was inspired when the three founders were served a very special Darjeeling tea by Ajit Madan, co-founder of Camellia’s Tea House in London and the UK's first certified ITEI Master Tea Sommelier. The name of the tea was "Exotic Thunder" and is first flush (spring harvest) Darjeeling from the Goomtee Estate in the Kresong Valley. This special location and variety is often called "The Champaign of Tea" and forms the signature botanical infusion. The rest of the botanicals include juniper, lemon, grapefruit, coriander, ginger, fennel, cardamom, cinnamon, and angelica infused into a French Neutral Spirit base.

Smartass Corner:
Although it’s left unsaid and unconfirmed, the name of the company appears to be a triple play on words — combining "Gin/Jin," "India," and "dea."

Appearance / Color

Crystal Clear

Nose / Aroma / Smell
The first note to reach your nose will be distinctly that of black tea followed by rosemary and tart zest.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
Somewhat surprisingly, ginger and other spices lead the palate with a tea tannin undertone followed by pine and more citrus zest.

Finish
The finish is clean and dry with a lingering spiced Chai tea essence.
