Scotch enthusiasts and lovers of their country, David Thompson and Teresa Church, are a charismatic duo proving that Whisky dreams really can come true.

Together, they have reenvisioned the Scottish Annandale Distillery, which has a rich and challenging history. After being established in 1836 by George Donald and bought by Johnnie Walker in 1893, it closed down in 1924. Being shunned for more than 80 years, the distillery finally re-opened in 2007, with the help of £150,000 investment from the Regional Selective Assistance support. This capital injection not only provided much-needed employment for 29 people but also demonstrated that Scotch Whisky can thrive in Southern Scotland, too! David and Teresa had a burning desire to reintroduce Single Malt Scotch Whisky in this particular part of the country and show that despite some truancy on peat’s account, first-rate Single Malts can still be produced in this stunning region of Scotland.

Man O’Words 2015 Vintage Ex-Sherry Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an expression that speaks volumes. It is a single-cask bottling of Annadale’s sublime Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Aged in Oloroso sherry butts, it gives the Scotch a slightly darker color and nutty flavors. Even though it is bottled at 60.8% ABV, it is pleasantly smooth and mellow, with delicate aromas of honey, toffee, vanilla cream and a citrusy-sweet taste.
