Meukow VS Cognac

A classy Cognac with a rich history.

The roots of the Meukow House go back to 1850. Tsar Alexander II of Russia loved him some good Cognac and he really didn’t want to run out of it at any moment, so he sent two brothers August-Cristophe and Gustav Meukow from Silesia to France to get that royal supply chain set up. Eventually, after the two brothers had been going back and forth between France and Russia for a while, which probably wasn’t so effortless back then, they decided to settle down in the town of Cognac and open up A.C. MEUKOW & Co. on August 1, 1862. The legendary Cognac House is still going strong today as it became part of the family-owned and independent Compagnie de Guyenne, founded by Michel Coste in 1979 and that’s when their range really took off. Today, you can get Meukow Cognac in more than 80 countries and the House is led by Michel’s children.

Meukow VS Cognac is the fittingly impressive overachiever child of the Meukow House. One of their flagship offerings, this is an elegant and well-balanced Cognac blend that manages to bring together the roundness of fruity flavors and the delicate woody notes. It’s bottled at 80 proof with a Russian black panther adorning the classy bottle. Meow! Oh, and let’s not forget this fierce dram was named Best Cognac VS and got the Double Gold Medal at the prestigious 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
