Ophyum Solera 17 Years Old is a molasses Rum, made from a blend of different Caribbean sources. Ophyum is made by the Solera principle, meaning the Spirit was aged by gradually blending Rums of various ages. According to the principle, the older Rums educate the younger ones to form a smooth liquid with a great depth of flavor, and that’s exactly what happened here. The oldest Rums used to make Ophyum 17 Year Old Premium Rum have been maturing for 17 years in French and American oak barrels, while the remaining are youngsters. But the end result is a complex Rum that tastes like it was matured for even longer; a fine Rum of great harmony, best enjoyed just with an ice cube or two.
