The perfect cocktail Rum that touched the sky.

Ron Zacapa is a different Rum in many ways. It’s named after the eastern Guatemalan town of Zacapa, where their plantations lie on the volcanic plains at 1,148ft above sea level. But their Rum is actually aged even higher up, at the House Above the Clouds, Zacapa’s aging facility, located at 7,545ft above sea level – it really doesn't get very hot there and so, the Rum can age more consistently in the fresh mountain air. While most Rums are molasses-based, Zacapa only uses the concentrated first press of sugar cane, known as virgin sugar cane honey – think smoother and sweeter. Plus, Zacapa Rums are aged Solera-style, which is traditionally reserved for Sherry production. And to top it all, the magic happens under the hands of one of the rare female Master Distillers, the brilliant Lorena Vásquez.

Ron Zacapa Centenario 12 Year Old Ambar Rum is "crafted for the perfect cocktail." Now, we’ve got pretty high standards but this blend of Rums, aged from 4 to 12 years in ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry barrels is truly outstanding. The palate is smooth with vanilla, wood, and cinnamon, plus the finish is rather dry, which is exactly what you want for a great cocktail.
