Tamnavulin Double Cask

Lost Scottish Single Malt returns home.

Tamnavulin distillery was founded in 1966, when John Lennon first met Yoko, and with the pure underground springs, they started making fine Single Malts. But the distillery was closed down in 1995 and was reopened more than two decades later. Their Single Malt was mostly used in blends and sometimes a few barrels would come out as indie expressions.

Until 2016, when a fantastic bottle celebrating 50 years of distillery came out and it was Tamnavulin's first original release since the 90s. It's called Double Cask, which means they initially mature the Spirit in American oak barrels, before they give them the final finish in ex-Sherry casks. Resurrection appropriately tastes like Christmas with flavors of festive pudding, spiced rum sweetness and chocolate.
