A small-batch beauty from Houston.

You know how you get all these great ideas when you're having a drink with your buddies? The kinds that involve quitting your boring old day job and reaching for something greater? Most of those grand schemes never see the light of day. The one that came to a group of friends in the heart of Houston, Texas, became Yellow Rose Distilling. The first legal Whiskey distillery in Houston became operational in 2010, named after a folk heroine and nestled smack dab in the middle of the city. Since the launch of their first product in 2012, their juice has brought home several awards, with Yellow Rose opening a tasting room and expanding considerably over the years.

Yellow Rose Outlaw Bourbon Whiskey lives up to its name. A rebel, it breaks all the traditional Bourbon laws. But you know how it goes, to break them you first need to know them really, really well. This one is crafted from 100% Texas yellow corn. Then, it’s aged in small American oak barrels in Houston where the temperature swings are around 15-20 degrees. This gives it unique Bourbon taste that can only come from here. The angel share a.k.a. the part of the Whisky that’s lost to the angels is 15% per year, which makes their Whiskey pretty precious. Sip on this small-batch dram neat, on the rocks, or make high-end cocktails. Whatever you do, savor it slowly.
