An exceptionally rare, twenty-four-year-old release of Ledaig Single Malt from the Tobermory Distillery.
The premiss of Chapter 7 Whisky is simple — each cask of Whisky is unique. The wood, age, temperature, its location in the rick-house… everything tells its own story. Large Scotch producers marry casks in large vats before bottling so that the master blender can try to make them all taste the same. The folks at Chapter 7 Whisky think that’s a shame.
Chapter 7 is the brain-child of Selim Evin. He thinks that each cask should tell its own unique tale, so he travels to Scotland and Ireland to hand-select single casks from the inventories of the world’s greatest distilleries. Then he custom bottles each one with its own story. How many bottles you ask? Well, until the barrel is empty..
What were you doing in 1995? Coolio release "Gangsta’s Paradise," Girl-band TLC had a hit with "Waterfalls," Jerry Seinfeld ruled TV comedy, and in September of that year cask #189 was filled at the Tobermory Distillery for their Ledaig Single Malt line. But this particular cask got a bit lost in the rickhouse, becoming an exceptionally well-aged example. Chapter 7 was able to get their hands on it . They were able to yield 242 bottles of this exceptional twenty-four-year-old Single Malt at 51.6% ABV.
Smartass Corner:
Chapter 7 has organized their releases into three categories. "Monologues" are single cask releases with a strictly limited quantity. "Anecdotes" are small batch or select blends that cannot be reproduced. Finally, "Chronicles" are small batch releases that are reproducible.
